Thanks for your note of 4th October,1932,
No.92622/32, enclosing draft of the official letter you propose to send on the subject of the assessment of profits on securities held by the Hong Kong Government.
I suggest you add "unless such interest is reinvested" as shown on page 3 as we would not claim contribution in such a
case.
I also suggest the deletion of the word "present" in the 4th line on the last page and the substitution of "Of" for "now held by" at the foot of the same page in order to cover the question of the large amounts at present held in suspense in the colony in connection with this question, about which, we understand there has been some diversity of opinion between the Colonial Auditor and the Local Treasurer.
With these slight amendments I think the draft sets forth the position fairly and clearly and will enable us to finally dispose of this troublesome question.
